Petition calls for rare disease strategy in Ontario

Ontario NDP MPP Bhutila Karpoche tabled a petition in the legislature calling for a provincial rare disease strategy and for recommendations issued in 2017 by a rare disease working group be implemented as soon as possible. The petition demands the government pass Karpoche’s private members bill, entitled the Rare Disease Strategy Act, which would require the government to immediately pursue a provincial strategy that would support rare disease patients’ needs.
