Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders is proud to be the recipient of this year’s Giroux Sewing Centre’s Quilt for a Cause. Each year, the Giroux Sewing Centre selects an organization and hosts a quilt fundraiser in their honour. Individuals purchase quilt blocks and a dedicated group of volunteers comes together to sew up the beautiful quilts.CORD’s Secretary, Maureen Smith attended the event and delivered a sincere message of gratitude to the volunteers, emphasizing how Quilt for a Cause is not only an important fundraiser for activities that will impact the 1 in 12 Canadians with rare diseases but also in raising awareness about rare diseases.
Jim McDonell, MPP for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry stopped in to show his support at the event.
Thanks to the efforts of the Giroux Sewing Centre staff, especially Angele and Diane, their wonderful customers, and friends, four beautiful quilt tops which will be raffled in support of CORD and the Rare Disease Strategy.
Special thanks to CORD’s official photographer, Jim McQuaid who was was able to attend the event and capture the volunteers in action.
